The caravan is so lovely and well thought out.

Thank you so much for our stay at Reece’s Retreat this past week

Matthew (age 4) has CP and is blind. With physical and cognitive abilities of under 12 months.

He has flourished in so many ways during covid times (like many of the families here with Clinically Vanurable Children we only left the house for hospital appointments for 18 months).

However socially Matthew took a huge step back. We were so anxious about this trip. Would he eat? Would he sleep? How would he find the pool? Would he be sad or scared? Surely the music would be too loud and the “wrong” (read not Mr Tumble!) Music.

But no he blew us away. Matthew swam every day and was sitting on the edge of the pool and jumping in by the last day!

We went to the club every night. He sat and listened to story’s, met the mascots, interacted with the staff (who are amazing and went out of their way to give Matthew the best chance to succeed). Matthew even enjoyed time in his wheelchair which he has only ever done for his Auntie never Mummy or Daddy

He slept so well each night.

We didn’t leave the site and actually only scratched the surface of activities on offer.

The caravan is so lovely and well thought out.

The full-size fridge was a huge benefit and the washing machine a welcome surprise.

Thank you so so much for this opportunity to have new experiences and make some happy family memories.

Here is just a few photos we took.
